I figured I'd post to see if there's any BSG love 'round here. I know there's some rabid Firefly fans, but haven't seen this show come up.

The new Battlestar is, IMHO, the best thing on TV these days. Good characters, good acting, solid stories, and cool effects. I really like how it doesn't cast issues into black and white moral lectures. It leaves lots of grey in there... and even questions if humanity is in the right in their struggle to survive.

What I find even cooler is that it's consitered to have been the show that broke the "P2P kills broadcast" myth. It's the single most downloaded show, but it still gets great numbers of viewer. Season 1 aired a full month before it was shown in Northamerica and the downloading went crazy. What's interesting is that apparenlty all that piracy managed to create a grassroots fan base and when it finally was broadcast here, the number of people watching was way higher than expected.

Anyway, I caught the season 2 closer last night and it blew me away. It managed to pull a hard left that didn't feel contrived. I don't wanna mention any spoilers, so I'm gonna shut up about it.

So... any fans here?

I bought the Season 1 DVD and was pretty happy with the whole series. I can not wait for Season 2 to come out on DVD.

I lover RPGs, especially PnP RPGs. Foirtunately there are a lot of creative people out there.

Check out Pegasus Galaxy Website for good resources, reviews and Episode Summaries.

Cheers

Enjoyed the original BG - been to scared to touch the new one at shops and I don't know if they'll show it here (if it is, it'll almost certainly be on at some stupid hour at night)

BSG ran in Europe first before the US. I had the chance to bittorrent all the season 1 from the euro broadcasts, just after the pilot ran here...

I always forget to tune into the new episodes...

Season 1 took a while to get things rolling for me but I was hooked on season 2, holding out for the DVD release of season 3! It's by far one of the best series on TV. The battles are jawdropping and I was even more amazed to find it among the few shows I'm enjoying, heroes, lost, that has a really solid plot!
